ISP Upgrade Cases

When a site has a change of ISP, or an ISP upgrade, we will need to have the following checklist completed, and e-mail the checklist to Chris Tibbits, CCing Tami Tock, Trey Calvert, and cwleads:

Subject: ISP Upgrade/Transition Case #xxxxx

To: Chris Tibbits ([email protected])

CC: Trey Calvert ([email protected]), Tami Tock ([email protected]), [email protected]

Site Name – This is an obvious one, and can be found via SugarCRM or Admin.

Node Count – This can be found either through Admin’s MeshView, or a status check on the location name in PuTTY (If PuTTY is used for this, be sure to rule out inactive nodes, RMA nodes, BURN nodes, and SHIP nodes.)

Site Count – This can be found on the “Main” tab for the property in SugarCRM.

ISP Name – Previous ISP name, and new ISP name when dealing with an ISP transition. If the ISP remains the same, simply notate the name of the ISP.

ISP Pipe Size – Include the size of the upload and download rate for the new connection.

Shaping Suggestion – Include your personal suggestion for the bandwidth shaper’s tiers. If the site requests specifics tiers, include that information as well.

The above example will cover all of the necessary information required for the new procedure. In addition to the above template, include any other relevant notes to the case.

In addition to the above template, include the following information in an update to the “Additional ISP Information” section in SugarCRM.

New Shaper Set: mm/dd/yyyy:

(Copy + paste of the updated shaping tiers from Admin)
