Troubleshooting

Issues with slow speeds or game closing after loading in Technic?

Check what version of java your using from cmd prompt:java -version
If your using 32bit java on a 64bit Windows installation Download java 64bit from Oracle Website

In Technic Launcher click on “Launcher Options” –> “Java Settings”
If the 64 bit version isnt showing up click “Find another version”
Dont know where the Binary is located? Look in the mirror and laugh at that guy… then go to :
C: –> Program Files —> Java —> Jre1.8.0_45 —> bin —>JAVA or JAVAW

Now you should be able to select 64 bit Java and Increase the Amount of Ram you can use for the game!

  • Some custom Launch options that I had when I had played the game last:
    -Xmn2G -Xss4M -Xms3G -Xmx3G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+CMSParallelRemarkEnabled -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

You put these in the Launcher Options -> Java Settings -> Java Args box.

With Higher memory in your computer (5GB+), I can recommend turning on largepages, but you must change a certain few settings in your computer, and run Minecraft as Administrator. (This is for your home computers)

    1. Run secpol.msc
    2. Open Local Policies\User Rights Assignment
    3. Scroll down to “Lock Pages In Memory”
    4. Add User or Group, and add your Username or the Administrators group.
    5. Restart your computer.

And then use these args on Minecraft instead:
    -Xss4M -Xms4G -Xmx4G -XX:+UseLargePages -XX:+UseG1GC -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
